Kento Health Announces Sentinel, a Multi-Signal Cardiac Monitoring Device Integrated from Patient to EMR
Multi-signal cardiac monitoring designed to give care teams a continuous view of cardiovascular health between visits, delivered within existing clinical workflows

ROCHESTER, MINNESOTA.
Kento Health today announced Sentinel, a reusable chest-worn device designed to capture the heart’s electrical, mechanical and respiratory signals during routine spot checks, overnight wear and exercise. A docking cradle supports extended diagnostic recordings.
Remote cardiac monitoring has largely relied on single-parameter devices, each measuring one aspect of cardiovascular health. Sentinel captures multiple physiological signals concurrently, on a single device that remains with the patient between clinical encounters.
Together, these signals provide a measure of the heart’s rhythm, pumping function, respiration and long-term cardiovascular risk, at rest, during sleep and during exercise.
Sentinel Fusion, Kento’s proprietary signal fusion approach, integrates Sentinel data with blood pressure, weight and clinical record data within the Kento platform. Kento’s models are being developed to use this combined view to identify early signs of clinical decline.
Sentinel data flows from the patient to the Kento Patient App and onward to the Kento clinician platform, which may be embedded within the electronic medical record or used as a standalone application. For health systems using Kento, Sentinel is deployed through configuration of the existing platform and does not require a separate integration.
Sentinel is designed to support a range of cardiovascular and pulmonary programs, including preventive cardiology, cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, atrial fibrillation management, heart failure, ambulatory electrocardiography, sleep-apnea screening, remote patient monitoring and cardio-oncology.
“We didn’t white-label a sensor or start from someone else’s reference design. We built Sentinel end to end: custom circuit board, firmware, signal processing and algorithms, the patient app, the clinician platform and the integration into the EMR. When a clinician questions a signal, we can trace it all the way down to the board,” said Julien Martel, MD, co-founder and Head of AI at Kento Health.
Sentinel has entered prospective clinical evaluation. The first patient cohort is enrolling at an academic medical center under a formal study protocol, and Kento is selecting a limited number of health systems to participate as early evaluation sites.
Sentinel is an investigational device and has not been cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Sentinel will first be made available as a wellness device, providing insight into heart health, sleep and fitness, while Kento pursues FDA clearance. Clinical claims will follow clearance. Kento is preparing its FDA 510(k) submission and is targeting FDA clearance in 2027.
About Kento Health
Kento Health helps health systems grow and operate cardiovascular and pulmonary programs through a modular platform that connects patients and clinicians across in-person and remote care. Kento can be deployed as software integrated into existing clinical workflows or operated as a standalone platform, and it also supports delegated-care operating models, leveraging proprietary AI to help teams scale programs with less operational burden.
